China is a fascinating country that I have had the opportunity to travel to many times over the past twenty years. It is far
easier to travel around now than it was in the early eighties. I hope that these pages will give you some hints on where to find out more about travelling here. This site does not profess to be a tourist guide
but rather a source of links to information produced by the experts and commercial enterprises that you will need to contact to buy a ticket or just get information from.
Photographs from my various trips are slowly being added and come from as far afield as Urumuqi in the west, Fularji in the
northeast, Shanghai in the east and Guilin in the south. See the My China pages with yearly listings

The red dots on the map indicate
some of the towns and cities that I have visited in China either once or several times. There are many more that I have forgotten the names of, mostly in the provinces of Jiangsu and Sichuan. No indications of the
rail journeys or flights between the cities are given for reasons of clarity.
Although China is the country I have most experience of travelling to (outside Swedena and England of course) I
have also had the opportunity of travelling to most parts of the world. Seemartincrowther.netfor all my
other travels: Nearly 50 countries around the world and with the aim of adding some new ones every year. New for 2005 will be Argentina and Uruguay. Check the Whats New page for the latest site updates.
Where do you go on holiday when you live in China? In my case New Zealand. Here is some information about a fishing trip to New Zealand in 2003
